Joanna K, MS, BCBA – Owner

Since 2003, Joanna has worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, as well as ADHD, anxiety disorders, learning disabilities, and behavior disorders. She has experience in many settings including: schools, clinics, residential programs, home programs, community-integration programs, behavioral health hospitals, and sheltered workshops.

Prior to entering into private practice, Joanna developed the 1st in-patient behavioral health hospital unit in the Midwest for children with ASD and psychological disorders.

Throughout her diverse experiences, it has become evident that the key factor to a child’s success is directly linked to motivation. Maintaining a child’s motivation and the use of natural reinforcers is Joanna’s primary area of interest.

Adrian G, BCBA

Adrian started her journey into the field of ABA in 2010. She received her Masters of Arts in psychology at Roosevelt in 2019 and finished her coursework in behavior analysis at University of North Texas in 2020. She has worked across settings including therapeutic day schools, private schools, public schools, clinic, home, and in the community with clients aged 2 to 22 years. While she has worked across skills, she enjoys teaching replacement behaviors and helping her clients fade supports to be more successful in least intrusive environments. She has focused on teaching independence, group learning, and enhancing social opportunities for her clients.

Her hobbies outside of work include gardening, crafting, making pizzas, walking her sheepadoodle, and planning and hosting parties for her family.

Erina J, Behavior Analyst Intern

Erina received her Master’s Degree of Psychology, with concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis through the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. During her educational career, she worked as an RBT/Level 2 Behavior Therapist at multiple facilities and completed her internship through JMK Behavior Services. She has been working in this field for 12 years, prior to that, Erina volunteered with Best Buddies Organization all throughout her time in high school.

Erina has worked with all age groups from young toddlers to adults with developmental disabilities. Her passion has allowed her to excel in different types of environments such as clinics, schools, residential, and home settings.

Hobbies: spending time outdoors with nature, spending quality time with her family and dogs, baking, exercising, and creating crafts with her kids.

Linda L, Behavior Analyst Intern

Linda graduated from Westwood College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Purdue University Global. Linda worked 7 years for the Early Intervention program for the State of Illinois and 4 years in a residential facility for troubled children. Linda’s inspiration to become a Behavior Analyst is from knowing how important children are to our future.

Hobbies: Linda enjoys traveling, history and geography. Her dream is to explore the world and learn from other cultures.

Cathy W, Registered Behavior Technician

Cathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in 2000. Since then she has worked in school districts as a substitute teacher in special education classrooms, as a classroom program assistant, and as a senior program assistant in therapeutic day schools for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Cathy has been a part of the JMK Behavior team as a registered behavior technician since 2014.

Hobbies: Cathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, reading, playing with her dog and taking care of her snake.

Ryan G, Registered Behavior Technician

Ryan received his undergraduate degree in History at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and a post bachelorette in Autism Studies at Saint Joseph’s University. He has worked over the past six years working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities in a therapeutic school setting and in home therapy. He started working at JMK in July 2017 as a part time ABA Therapist, then transitioning to full time in June 2021.

Hobbies: In his free time, Ryan enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, and travelling.

Jenny L, Registered Behavior Technician

Jenny earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University in 2020. Jenny is currently attending Dominican University to earn her Master’s in   Social Work, with a concentration in Behavioral Health and is expected to graduate in May of 2023. Her specialty interests include: Play Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and Mental Health in Children. Jenny has a background of working with children for the past 2 years starting in school-based mental health counseling where she focused on the usage of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for at-risk middle school youth experiencing anxiety and depression. Additionally, she has also worked with the elementary school population as a Youth Development leader working with children to build healthy social skills, and guided them in math and reading comprehension. More of her experience includes working with adults living with neurological disorders in helping them achieve living independence. Aiding them with medication management, performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and communication skills. She has also volunteered as a job coach for adults with disabilities modeling customer service skills and organization. Jenny has a strong passion for working with children and believes that every child can reach their full potential for their own success.

Hobbies: In her free time, Jenny loves running, singing, baking homemade sweets, listening to her rock and roll vinyls, doing art projects with her nieces & nephews, and taking care of her cat.

Donna K, MA – Administrative Manager

Donna received her Master of Arts degree from DePaul University in Musicology. While in college she volunteered to work with infants with disabilities at Misericordia in Chicago and worked with underprivileged children in Cabrini Green during the early years of the Head Start Program. After 35 years in real estate, first in sales and then as an administrator, Donna has come full circle.

Stacy H, MA – Operations Manager and RBT

Stacy earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sociology at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She began working at JMK Behavior Services as an ABA Therapist in April 2014, and then in August 2014, Stacy transitioned to the Operations Department where she handles new client relations and scheduling.

Hobbies: In her free time, Stacy enjoys working in her garden and playing outside with her dogs.

Jillian A – Director of Talent Acquisition

Jillian graduated from DePaul University with degrees in Marketing, Management & Business Administration. Inspired by her mother and sisters who work in education, Jillian knew the positive impact she could make in those with spectrum disorders by pairing them with the right therapist.

Hobbies: Outside of work, Jillian enjoys time with family, traveling, writing, painting and walking her dogs.

Emily S – Community Outreach Coordinator

Emily received two degrees, one in Theatre and the other in Recreation and Tourism from Arizona State University and is currently in the process of starting her Masters in Integrative Health Care from the same university. A certified Health and Life Coach, she is currently working on expanding her horizons to become an RBT while using her special events/marketing skillset to reach out to those in the community that may need JMK’s services.

Hobbies: Outside of work, Emily is a licensed Zumba (STRONG, Toning, Aqua and Kids/Kids Jr) Instructor, Co-ed Softball Player, and “Gym Rat”. She can be found most at peace on top of a mountain or camping in a forest.

Mike K – IT Support Specialist

Mike has worked in direct care support for people with mental disabilities coupled with severely aggressive behavior since 2009, including managing multiple residential care facilities and being an active member of the mobile crisis unit. He is an advocate of ABA for those with autism spectrum disorders and believes in the positive impact it plays in their lives. Mike has also been a professional freelance web developer and graphic designer for over 15 years. In addition to servicing technical support & graphical needs at JMK Behavior Services, Mike is the Creative Director and Production Manager of a pro/am mixed martial arts fight promotion, a licensed special effects pyrotechnician in Hollywood, a successful illustrator and published comic book artist, as well as a contributing writer, producer, and voice actor of a popular online audio drama horror series.

Hobbies: Mike enjoys drawing, Jiu-jitsu, and playing video games.
