Joanna M. Kooistra, MS, BCBA – Owner
Since 2003, Joanna Kooistra has worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities, as well as ADHD, anxiety disorders, learning disabilities, and behavior disorders. She has experience in many settings including: schools, clinics, residential programs, home programs, community-integration programs, behavioral health hospitals, and sheltered workshops.
Prior to entering into private practice, Joanna developed the 1st in-patient behavioral health hospital unit in the Midwest for children with ASD and psychological disorders.
Throughout her diverse experiences, it has become evident that the key factor to a child’s success is directly linked to motivation. Maintaining a child’s motivation and the use of natural reinforcers is Joanna’s primary area of interest.
Donna Kooistra, M.A. – Administrative Manager
Donna received her Master of Arts degree from DePaul University in Musicology. While in college she volunteered to work with infants with disabilities at Misericordia in Chicago and worked with underprivileged children in Cabrini Green during the early years of the Head Start Program. After 35 years in real estate, first in sales and then as an administrator Donna has come full circle.

Stacy Haggerty, M.A – Operations Manager and Registered Behavior Technician
Stacy earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sociology at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She started working for JMK Behavior Services as an ABA Therapist in April 2014. In August 2014, Stacy joined the Operations Department where she handles new client relations and scheduling.
Hobbies: Outside of work, Stacy enjoys working in her garden, playing with her dog Taz, and hanging out with friends.
Michael Kooistra – IT Support Specialist
Mike has worked in direct care support for people with mental disabilities coupled with severely aggressive behavior since 2009, including managing multiple residential care facilities and being an active member of the mobile crisis unit. Mike has also been a professional freelance web developer and graphic designer for over 15 years. He is an advocate of ABA for those with autism spectrum disorders and believes in the positive impact it plays in their lives. In addition to servicing technical support & graphical needs at JMK Behavior Services, Mike is the Creative Director and Production Manager of a pro/am mixed martial arts promotion, a special effects/pyro technician in Hollywood, a successful illustrator and published comic book artist, as well as a writer and producer of a popular online audio drama horror series.
Hobbies: Mike enjoys drawing, Jiu-jitsu, playing video games, and living the dream.
Matt Gibson, MA, BCBA
Matt has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum since graduating from Northern Illinois University in 2009. Matt completed his Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and is currently pursuing his PhD in applied behavior analysis at the same institution. Matt has worked with individuals ranging in age from 2 to 65 with a variety of autism spectrum disorders or other developmental disabilities. Matt specializes in the application of complex verbal behavior.
Hobbies: Outside of work, Matt enjoys competing in Spartan Races, participating in and coaching Cross Fit and Olympic Weightlifting, and teaching courses in applied behavior analysis.
Alexandra (Sasha) Koroleva-Regalado, M.Ed., BCBA
Sasha started working with individuals on the autism spectrum scale while pursuing her Psychology degree at Loyola University Chicago in 2005. Since then, she has worked in home, school, and residential programs as therapist, consultant and BCBA with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Sasha completed her Master’s degree in Special Education and finished the requirements to attain a board certification in Applied Behavior Analysis through the Florida Institute of Technology. Sasha enjoys working with all ages and ability levels, and takes special interest in parent and staff training to enhance the outcomes of her clients.
Hobbies: Outside of work Sasha enjoys reading, spending quality time with her husband and two sons, as well as camping and canoeing.
Ariel Mut, Behavior Specialist
Ariel started her career working as a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner, where she supported individual’s with severe mental illness to obtain their education and employment goals in the community. In 2011, she earned a Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice. She worked as a counselor for 3 years assisting women with co-occurring disorders to achieve their recovery goals. In 2014, when Ariel moved to Illinois from Pennsylvania, she decided to go back to school to earn a Masters of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Ariel has over four years experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders from ages 2-20, and experience consulting in an education system for students from grades Kindergarten to Grade 12. Ariel is currently in pursuit of obtaining her board certification in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Hobbies: Walking her dog by the beach, Starbucks, tribal belly dancing, and painting trees.
Vicky Ryan, Behavior Specialist
Vicky has over 20 years of experience working with people with various developmental disabilities. For the past four years she has been specialized in working with kids diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, applying the principles and techniques of Applied Behavior Analysis, and is currently pursuing board certification in Behavior Analysis. “I have observed the successes of my clients that have received ABA therapy and the positive impact it has made in their lives.”
Hobbies: Gardening, listening to music, and doing crafts. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their two kids, and one furry kid with paws.
